Thank you for all the support of all our members, the guidance of the government at all levels and all the support from various partners, Lake Malaren Golf Club successfully hosted the 2012 BMW Masters, which was a spectacular showcase of hospitality and a remarkable leading global golf event. The 2012 season was a year of plowing in the spring, cultivating in the summer, harvesting in the autumn, and having provisions for the winter. After a full year of hard work, we finally got our fine harvest together.

On February 2012, the club signed a "3+4" year contract with the BMW Motor Group and the European Tour commencing from 2012, and held the news conference for the new event titled the “BMW Masters” in Beijing in April 2012. This leading European Tour event has a total prize fund of 7 million dollars, which is one of highest prize funds in world golf and on the European Tour. The world's No.1 Rory McIlroy returned to Lake Malaren to defend his title from 2011 and compete with other golf star players, making Lake Malaren become the focus of the golf worlds attention.

In October 2012, Lake Malaren held the much anticipated BMW Masters and formed a new synergy with BMW. The unprecedented prosperity of the event drew the attention of the golf world and the clubs fame, global recognition and status grew to new levels. The club scaled new heights on the basis also of last years Shanghai Masters run by Lake Malaren and with agent IMG and in respect of all the new service standards and the status of the event, total prize money, player field and the attendance of the spectators.

Lake Malaren Golf Club in 2012 transformed into a European Tour event as a Presenting Partner and Host Venue with one of the highest prize funds from the hard working organizers. This identity shift affirmed our work and proved that Lake Malaren is on the right track.

A successful golf tournament is inseparable from the meticulous 8 month planning, course preparations, star players and the skilled tournament operation team. In order to meet the higher requirements of such a top international event, the club hired a professional agronomist to help prepare the new Nicklaus Design “Masters Course”, and we won the praise from all the players during the tournament week.

Similar to the players in 2011, we invited many star players including 11 of the winning Ryder Cup team, winning captain, and his three vice captains, and four of the worlds top five ranked superstar players for 2012, and Lake Malaren become the strongest tournament field attraction in Asia with world ranking points and a stringent qualifying criteria based mainly on the leading players from the world golf ranking system. We also invited 14 Chinese leading players as part of our duty to help grow the game in China.

In addition to the full cooperation of BMW globally, the European Tour team and the Lake Malaren team, the General Administration of Sport in China, the China Golf Association and the Shanghai Sports Bureau, Baoshan District Government and the SRE Group all gave us full support at different levels. They helped us to remove potential obstacles, and ensure that the event went smoothly during the entire tournament week.

Lake Malaren, Shenyang opened in the summer of 2012, and won the race to hold the 2012-2016 China National Golf Team Competitions. In September 2012, Lake Malaren Shenyang successfully hosted the 2012 Lake Malaren Shenyang National Golf Team Competition. This is China’s largest golf team event so far, and one of the 2013 preliminary National Games which consists of 19 provincial men's and 16 provincial women's teams who participate at the National Games pre-qualifiers, and also for the Chinese Olympic warm-up training.

The SRE Group will give full support to the upcoming 12th National Sports Games and to help make Shenyang a more civilized city quicker by holding a series of top sporting events. We are aware of the opportunity of golf becoming one of the sports in the Olympic Games in 2016, and our plan is to develop more leading golf courses in China in the future, and we will strive towards
more perfect golf resorts with better services and higher quality experiences.

We are so pleased that our club could combine corporate responsibility, benefit the local culture and help promote golf as a sport and popularize golf knowledge and etiquette and develop the local economy in the region. Lake Malaren Golf Club will elevate this social responsibility in the process of gradual growth, and this will correspond with the clubs growing influences domestically. In 2013, Lake Malaren will continue to raise our international standards by staging the BMW Masters which will be part of a new mega final series of four premium events on the European Tour in 2013 and 2014.
